I Must Tell Them Now - A fact-finding workbook for Older People
The book has been prompted by the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (which came into force completely by 1st October 2007) and which requires that the past history, attitudes and beliefs of a person should be taken into account if someone else has to make decisions for that person if that person cannot make the decision for himself or herself.
How many of us have ever written down comprehensively information about our past and our wishes for the future? How many of those who may have to obtain information about someone else would know where to start?
In its ninety plus pages this workbook prompts the user with a host of questions ranging from the details of their name, family and assets through to issues of their fears and phobias and their wishes for future care and not omitting such mundane details as what a person likes to drink and how they like to dress.

About The Author
A solicitor
based in Rochdale for over 27 years, Colin Ashley specialises in work with older
people. He was a trustee of Rochdale Community Support Trust a charity providing
support in their own homes for older people with mental health problems and is
now a trustee of Abbeyfield Kirkby Lonsdale. He is a
partner in the
Platinum Training Partnership.
